❖ Hi, I’m Pastor Jim Warner from Agape Christian Fellowship in Mesa, AZ.
❖ Thanks for joining me today.

❖ I’m a football fan, and this weekend begins another season of the NFL – the National Football League.
❖ And while there have been hundreds of coaches in the NFL over the years…
➢ … one of the greatest head coaches of all time… is Bill Belichick… the head coach of the New England Patriots.
➢ He holds LOTS coaching records, including the record of most Super Bowl wins …
➢ (That would be 8- Super Bowl wins)…
➢ Belichick is often referred to as a “student of the game”.
➢ He really understands the details – of each player position… and he knows “HOW to get the MOST out of each player.”
➢ And I’ve watched him for years… walk up to those defensive line guys who are 6’5” — 320-pounds.
➢ (Compared to little Coach Bill… these guys are HUGE.)
➢ And Coach Belichick — just stands there… shakes his finger in the air… and tells them – 3-simple words.
➢ 3-words that help them FOCUS.
➢ “Do — Your — Job!”
❖ He doesn’t get all philosophical… and he doesn’t try to help them feel better about themselves.
❖ He tells them… “Do your job!”
❖ If they are a defensive lineman – then their job is to push through the line, and tackle the running back, and get the quarterback.
❖ If their job is a defensive back, then their job is to not let anybody catch the ball… and definitely NOT let anybody in the end zone for a touchdown.
❖ Coach Bill doesn’t need to explain all the details of their position.
❖ He needs them to KNOW their position.
❖ And he tells them… “Do your job!”

❖ The word – “DO’ – is a VERB… and it simply means… “Accomplish… Finish… Complete what you start. Don’t be lazy’

❖ The 2nd word – “YOUR’ – means – “hey, man… … this is YOUR job. It’s nobody else’s job. It’s NOT gonna get done unless – “YOU” do it. (Take the responsibility.)
❖ And the 3rd word – “Job” – means – This is not ‘playground’. You’ve got a task. A very specific and well-thought-out task.
➢ And if – that ‘job’ doesn’t get done, then it has a huge impact on everybody else.
➢ “Do your job”

❖ Paul says the same thing to the Christians in the book of Romans – chapter 12 — verse 6. “Exercise your gifts.” So, whatever gift GOD has given you, then “Do your job”.
❖ “Exercise your gifts.”
❖ Has GOD give you the gift of service? Then serve other people.
❖ Has GOD give you the gift of encouragement? Then encourage.
❖ Has GOD give you the gift of giving? … of leadership?… of prophecy?
➢ Then “do your job”.
❖ It’s not MY job to be doing – YOUR job.
➢ In fact, there are people out there… (I’m not talking about you- who are listening today)…
➢ …but there are people who say,
➢ “Oh, the church should be doing that.”… or… “The pastor should be doing that.”
➢ No – – – as we talked about last Sunday in 1st John… the LORD is proactively calling “ALL” of us. HE’s calling YOU.
➢ And HIS call – – is clear and specific. It’s not MY job… it’s YOUR job.
➢ “Do that.”

❖ So – if it’s necessary – go back to the beginning, and ask the LORD through prayer…
❖ “LORD – what’s my job?” If you need some input to answer this question, ask a mature Christian that you know, and confirm it in Scripture.
❖ And then… “DO”………. “Your”……. “JOB”.
❖ Bill Belichick won 8-Super Bowls by keeping people focused.
❖ The LORD wants to see you & I victorious… as HE keeps us “focused”.
❖ “Do your job”.
