❖ Hi, I’m Pastor Jim Warner from Agape Christian Fellowship in Mesa, AZ.
❖ Thanks for joining me today.

❖ Do you ever wonder – “GOD, what do you want me to do?”
❖ Because – somewhere deep in our soul, we have this idea- that I’ve got to “DO” something … to get GOD’s approval.
❖ Well, on the surface, that sounds good…
❖ ..but GOD says, “NO, the primary thing I want you to “DO” is turn around & believe.

❖ in the O.T. – we learn of a prophet named “Micah”- who had this same question.
❖ We don’t know very much about the prophet MICAH, except he lived about 3,000 years ago… which means that he was alive before JESUS and the cross.
❖ But he asks a good question in the book with his name, chapter 6.
❖ (And this is my own paraphrase.)
❖ “Shall I come before GOD with the religious experience and rituals that I can do on my own?
➢ (I mean)… I can bow before God…
➢ I can do the sacrifices…
➢ I can give money…

❖ He even asked the question—
➢ I feel like I’ve got to pay for my sin. Can I do that? How can I do that?

❖ But chapter 6 — verse 8 – GOD straightens out the whole thing.
❖ GOD says… “You don’t have to EARN your way to heaven”…
➢ But there are 3 things that I WOULD like you to do”
➢ Do justly… Love mercy… and walk humbly with your GOD.
❖
❖ Do justly… which in Hebrew – is “Let the Truth be the Truth.”. It’s like being in a ‘court of law’… and the judge pronounces what is “RIGHT” on a case.
➢ And so for us… “Let the Truth – be the Truth.”… (and NOTHING “BUT” the truth.)

❖ b. Love mercy…or another word for that is… “being kind”.
➢ Love the idea of being kind to your fellow-man.

❖ c. Walk humbly with your God…
➢ To be modest.
➢ There’s NO Place for ‘pride’… when I’m in front of GOD.
➢ ..but to “HUMBLE” ourselves – before the Almighty GOD.

❖ These are all very unique… but are all wrapped in the heart of obedience.
➢ Not what I can “do” for Salvation,
➢ but what I can “DO” – as I follow HIM.

❖ Let’s – STOP what we’re doing… and ask the LORD to forgive us – for trying to be ‘religious’…
➢ …and instead… ask GOD to give us a heart … to “DO” what HE pleases HIM.

❖ Do Justice (or… “Be Truthful”)
❖ To… “Love Mercy”, (Kindness)
❖ and to be Humble as I stand before GOD. (no pride)

❖ Truth, Mercy, Humility (2x)

❖ But as we repent… that we would please GOD as we walk in..
