This afternoon Tim and I performed at a large nursing home called Belmont Village of Scottsdale. We played there once about a year ago. We had to bring our own piano keyboard on that day, and they had us play in a different building. I believe we played for memory care patients then.
Today we brought our keyboard, but it turned out that we didn’t need it. There was a beautiful Kawai digital piano in the lobby, which was hooked into the sound system of the building. I got to play their piano, which had a rich and full sound to it. The residents seemed to enjoy Tim’s singing and my playing, and both of our bad jokes.
We’ll be playing there again in November, and I’m looking forward to that. In the meantime, we’re playing at Brookdale East Arbor in Mesa next Tuesday. The self-proclaimed Director of Fun always makes our work feel more like a party, so we’re ready to enjoy our performance there.
